Mit der Ver=C3=B6ffentlich ung ihrer ersten EP Search for the Truth im Jahre 2002 benannte sich die Ba nd in Protest the Hero um. W=C3=A4hrend der Wochenenden und der Ferien arbe iteten die f=C3=BCnf Jugendlichen an weiteren Songs\, spielten erste Konzert e und eine Tour. So erschien 2003 mit A Calculated Use of Sound eine weiter e EP. Nach dem Gewinn des Canadian Independent Music Award in der Kategorie =E2=80=9EFavourite Metal Artist/Group=E2=80=9C\, ver=C3=B6ffentlichte die B and am 30. August 2005 ihr Deb=C3=BCtalbum Kezia\, welches erst am 4. M=C3 =A4rz 2006 auch in den USA ebenfalls unter Vagrant Records erschien. Die So ngtexte\, alle von Bassist Arif Mirabdolbaghi geschrieben\, handelten von Kez ia\, einer Frau\, die durch ein Erschie=C3=9Fungskommando hingerichtet wurde. Auff=C3=A4llig ist\, dass die Texte aus drei Perspektiven geschrieben worde n sind: der eines Priesters\, eines Gef=C3=A4ngnisw=C3=A4rters und Kezia sel bst. Nach Ver=C3=B6ffentlichung des Albums tourte die Band mit Bands wie As I Lay Dying\, 3 Inches of Blood und Killswitch Engage durch Kanada und die USA. Im Januar 2008 erschien das zweite Album der Band unter dem Namen Fort ress\, mit dem sie den ersten Platz in den kanadischen Charts erreichten und es f=C3=BCr eine Woche auf Platz 95 der Billboard 200 schafften. Ver=C3=B6 ffentlicht wurde das Album\, wie der Vorg=C3=A4nger =C3=BCber Vagrant Record s. Die Texte stammten ebenfalls von Bassist Arif Mirabdolbaghi. Am 29. Sept ember 2009 ver=C3=B6ffentlichte die Band ihre erste Live-DVD Gallop Meets t he Earth\, auf der sich Konzert-Mitschnitte eines Auftrittes in Toronto befa nden. Am 22. M=C3=A4rz 2011 erschien das dritte Studioalbum Scurrilous =C3 =BCber Vagrant Records. Auf ihrem am 2. November 2013 erschienenen Album Vo lition spielte Chris Adler von Lamb of God das Schlagzeug ein\, da Moe Carls on die Band zuvor verlassen hatte. Voilition wurde bei den Juno Awards 2014 mit einem Award in der Kategorie Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year ausgez eichnet.
